Our social worker provided a list of homes in the Regina area and also mentioned that a new home called Emmanuel Villa was opening in Emerald Park that summer. We went to their open house and were impressed with the new facility and kindness of owner.
On November 9, 2020, our father, Dan Tonita, moved to Emmanuel Villa Personal Care Home from the Parkside Extendicare. Upon arriving at Emmanuel, it was very obvious by its appearance that it was a gigantic step up from Parkside. After touring the place, we were happy to see the facilities they offered and that they had working equipment with multiple ways to use that equipment for their clients.
Both my wife's mother and my mother were recent residents of Emmanuel Villa until they both passed away in October 2021 at age 94 and 101 respectively. The staff and management, both for the SHA-subsidized Grace Unit, and the private care Joy Unit, provided compassionate and loving care and attention that met their physical, mental, and social needs in their final months and days.
